AEYON POSITION TITLE: IT/Communications Specialist

LOCATION: New Orleans, LA – Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The IT/Communications Specialist will support NASA under the CPSS contract at Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF). The position is expected to provide in-depth expertise, knowledge, and experience in the following areas: Point Span Private Branch Exchange (PBX) Telephone Switch, the Cisco Unified Call Manager Telephone System and Unity Voice Mail System, Trunked and HF Radio Systems, Emergency Warning System, Campus Cable Plant, IT Work Orders, and Incidents to ensure NASA and tenant requirements are met.

Job Duties:

• Provide expert-level input and support to overall management, technology assessment, planning, and execution of NASA/MAF mission-related activities.
• Provide an expert-level review of facility and operational activities at MAF that might impact other NASA Organizations.
• Support emergency management operations on behalf of the MAF Management Team.
• Provide consulting and oversight for liaison and senior management visits while also providing recommendations to the MAF Director and Chief Operations Officer (COO).
• Review Contractor Statement of Work(s) (SOWs) and provide detailed reports of risks, assessments, work planning, proposed execution, and impacts to the MAF to aid management decision-making.
• Provide budget, schedule, and technical recommendations to MAF leadership.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a U.S. Citizen and complete a U.S. government background investigation.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• NASA experience preferred.
• Desired 15+ years combined work experience.
• Desire a minimum of five (5) years prior NASA or aerospace experience.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and complete a U.S. Government background investigation.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work Environment- Generally an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
• Physical Requirements- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods). It may require lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs. (5% of the time).
• Equipment and Machines- Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
• Attendance- Regular attendance in accordance with the established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside the normal schedule and adjust the schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
• Other Essential Functions- Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. A professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation must be implemented. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

The implementation and enforcement of Executive Order 14043 are currently suspended under an injunction pending further litigation.
