POSITION OVERVIEW

The IT Business Systems Analyst combines strong business analysis with hands-on technical delivery. The role designs and builds a data-driven production scheduling application on our SQL Server data warehouse — using Python and an HTML front end, with AI/LLM capabilities — and provides ongoing ERP support and reporting across the business. This position continuously works to improve scheduling and reporting within the application and data architecture.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Design, build, and deploy a production scheduling application using Python with an HTML front end, running against the SQL Server data warehouse and sourcing demand, production plan, inventory, and component coverage directly from ERP data.
  • Develop AI/LLM scheduling capabilities, including prototyping an AI-based scheduling assistant, in partnership with internal teams and Microsoft.
  • Build and maintain data models, transformations, pipelines, and reports on the data warehouse, and grow self-service reporting in Tableau/Power BI.
  • Provide daily support for the ERP systems, including order management, AR, AP, GL, procurement, shipping, and operations modules.
  • Configure, enhance, maintain, and document company databases and applications, primarily on Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Partner with team members and business users to learn architecture, translate needs into requirements and functional designs, and improve scheduling and reporting.
  • Develop and execute test scripts; lead system integration and user acceptance testing to ensure high-quality delivery, and support SOX and CMMC compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data/Analytics, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • ERP: 5+ years hands-on configuring and supporting mid-to-large ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, NetSuite, Infor, Epicor, or similar). Aptean Made2Manage (M2M) and Infor Visual experience are a strong plus.
  • SQL & data warehousing: Advanced SQL and Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) — building and optimizing queries, stored procedures, and data models against a data warehouse and other relational databases.
  • Python: Strong Python for data work and application development (e.g., pandas, SQLAlchemy, and a web framework such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django).
  • Full-stack app delivery: Demonstrated ability to build and deploy data-driven internal applications end to end — from database to HTML/CSS/JavaScript web UI.
  • AI / LLM: Hands-on experience applying AI and LLM tools — AI-assisted (“vibe”) coding, prompt engineering, and/or building LLM-powered assistants. Familiarity with Microsoft / Azure AI (Azure OpenAI, Copilot) and a strong interest in AI-driven scheduling. Must have a demonstrated ability to verify, test, and understand AI-assisted code, ensuring it is leveraged safely and intelligently. Must possess the technical depth to architect secure, thoroughly tested, and highly maintainable solutions.
  • Modern data stack: Experience with ELT / data-pipeline tooling (Fivetran, dbt or SQLMesh, or comparable) and BI platforms — Tableau or Power BI strongly preferred.
  • Manufacturing planning: Understanding of demand planning, SIOP / S&OP, MRP, BOM, routing, capacity, and inventory/coverage concepts strongly preferred.
  • DevOps basics: Familiarity with Git, Docker, Jenkins, Linux, and scheduled-job orchestration (cron).
  • Business analysis: Ability to gather and document business requirements, technical requirements, and process flows; experience with system integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Environment & compliance: Experience in a discrete manufacturing environment preferred; exposure to SOX and CMMC compliance environments a plus.
  • Core skills: Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills; self-directed and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
