Job Description Summary

The IT Business Analyst is responsible for working with the AMS teams on the day-to-day operations associated with the Application Management Services (AMS) contract and program in collaboration with our outsourcing partner. This role entails overseeing the work and resources related to the AMS program to ensure that service levels are maintained for 150 business and IT applications. The responsibilities include collaborating with the AMS team on all facets of service delivery, starting from the onboarding of resources to the final reporting stages. This role will also be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices to enhance service delivery. This role is also responsible for business analyst duties for innovation projects including GenAI initiatives.
All incumbents are responsible for following applicable Division & Company policies and procedures.

Job Description

  • In partnership with the Manager, IT Performance Management & Operations, ensures that the Application Management Services (AMS) contract deliverables are met.
  • Works closely with the Manager, IT Performance Management & Operations to ensure the day-to-day operations for the Application Management Services contract runs smoothly and efficiently.  This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Attending weekly application bundle meetings to ensure the outsourced partner is performing as stated in the contract
    • Preparing and posting reports
    • Preparing meeting materials
    • Following up on team member or IT feedback
    • Ensuring quarterly contract updates occur
    • Onboarding/offboarding of contract resources
    • Monitoring SLAs to ensure contract adherence
    • Monitors root cause analysis for major incidents
  • Educates IT team members on the RACI related to application outsourcing.
  • Maintains and distributes reports to senior leadership to ensure contract adherence and assists with preparing for steering committee meetings with the AMS Partner.
  • Actively seeks new opportunities to leverage AMS services.
  • Identifies and raises opportunities for improving service delivery processes and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assists with enabling center-led programs.
  • Conducts business analyst duties (analysis, requirements definition, testing, etc) for innovation projects including GenAI initiatives.
  • Embraces the principle of “continuous improvement” in all aspects of professional contributions.
  • Assists the Director; IT Strategy, Operations, and Performance Management with the day-to-day IT Operations tasks as necessary.
  • Responsible for delivering and participating in required departmental activities and standard processes.  This includes but is not limited to:
    • Change Control Process and Meetings
    • IT Project Budget Management
    • Project Methodology
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related subject matter
  • Minimum 0-3 years technology experience
  • 3rd Party Management experience working with outsourced partners. 

Proficiency in a body of information required for the job   

e.g., knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP/GLP/GCP, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, etc.

  • Corporate business processes and best practices 
  • Familiarity with industry service partners  
  • Familiarity of FDA regulations and industry trends 
  • Familiar with creating IT performance metrics

Often referred to as “competencies,” leadership attributes, skills, abilities or behaviors that may be enterprise, functional or job specific       e.g. coaching, negotiation, calibration, technical writing etc.

  • Ability to lead, integrate, and deliver outsourced work products is preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL), excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders and partners on project scope and delivery. 
  • Strong critical thinking skills; responsive and flexible to evolving responsibilities and changing environments. 
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
