The Business Analyst for Legal & Global Trade Compliance plays a critical role in advancing compliance, process modernization, and regulatory readiness across Legal and Global Trade functions. This analyst supports requirements discovery, workflow definition, data analysis, compliance validation, and continuous improvement of systems enabling legal operations, export controls, jurisdiction/classification processes, and trade compliance workflows.
This role partners closely with Legal, Global Trade, IT Service Owners, data analysts, product squads, and system integrators in an environment handling sensitive, export-controlled information.
Requirements Gathering & Functional Analysis
- Lead discovery activities to capture business requirements for Legal and Global Trade initiatives, including classification, jurisdiction, data validation, export-workflow needs, and compliance automation.
- Translate regulatory and legal obligations into actionable functional requirements across platforms (EMS, Appian, Legal systems).
- Partner with Business Relationship Managers and IT SMEs to clarify scope, resolve ambiguity, and ensure alignment with consent-agreement expectations and GT modernization objectives.
- Document current-state and future-state workflows for jurisdiction/classification, contract/legal data handling, export review cycles, approvals, and case-management workflows.
- Support Legal in defining mandatory data elements, structured workflows, and compliance checkpoints for ITAR/EAR, export-controlled data, and global trade rules.
- Analyze large datasets to support compliance-driven decisions.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and data summaries to support leadership visibility and regulatory inspections.
- Assist in system configuration, requirement validation, and test support across Legal and Global Trade systems and platforms
- Assist with UAT across Legal/GT workflows; validate that new features meet compliance, regulatory, and legal business requirements.
- Partner with integration teams to ensure accurate data flows between ERP, PLM, EMS, and GT modernization systems.
- Serve as the connective tissue between Legal, GT, Compliance, Architecture, and data teams.
- Work in product squads supporting Legal and Global Trade, collaborating with configuration, QA/testers, developers, and data/AI analysts.
- Support Legal and GT stakeholders during audits, review cycles, and approval readiness sessions.
- Document SOPs, compliance process expectations, structured workflows, and cross-functional decision paths.
- Help refine methodologies for classification, data governance, and compliance monitoring in partnership with Legal and GT SMEs.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and 6-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in Legal, Compliance, Global Trade, or regulated enterprise environments.
- Experience interpreting ITAR/EAR, export-control requirements, or supporting systems managing controlled technical data.
- Proven ability to document workflows, requirements, and regulatory considerations across cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- High attention to detail and documentation quality.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently at a senior individual-contributor level.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience with compliance-related enterprise platforms.
- Experience collaborating with Legal, Contracts, and Global Trade stakeholders and supporting audit or certification reviews.
- Familiarity with low-code automation platforms used for compliance workflows.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $96623 - $164259
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
