Across its global tech centers, JMA makes 5G possible for organizations with the most critical connectivity demands in the world. JMA’s technology is ushering in a new era of connectivity for leading mobile carriers, the most iconic stadiums, major universities, leading healthcare centers, the busiest transit centers, and the U.S. Military.

5G is more than another G on your phone — it is a generational opportunity to change the way the world operates. Join the industry’s fastest growing technology company to shape that future today.

We are seeking an experienced IT Applications Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the strategic oversight, implementation, management, and optimization of business applications within the organization.

This is a hands-on player-coach role that involves directly engaging in technical execution while leading a team of IT personnel to ensure business applications efficiently support business processes, improve operational efficiency, and safeguard system integrity and security to drive organizational growth.

The role coordinates across IT and business units to ensure the entire application landscape—including SAP, integrated third-party applications, and homegrown solutions—is aligned with business goals, supported effectively, and continuously optimized for performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the SAP environment runs optimally, providing hands-on support for day-to-day operational issues and complex troubleshooting.
  • Manage SAP upgrades, patches, and system enhancements, analyzing the platform's business value to suggest improvements for efficiency and scalability.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the SAP environment, including user access, data privacy, and compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Generate technical health reports for the SAP landscape, focusing on system performance, API/integration throughput, batch job success rates, CPI/middleware latency, and system-wide resource utilization to provide senior management with a transparent view of landscape stability.
  • Enforce standards, guidelines, and implementation methods by adopting a formal methodology to streamline deployments and reduce technical debt.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies to maintain a "single source of truth" for corporate reporting and financial consolidation.
  • Resolve complex technical issues related to SAP functionality and integration, coordinating with internal IT departments and external vendors as required.
  • Prioritize the SAP roadmap based on business impact; prepare and maintain project plans, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure focus on high-value initiatives.
  • Convert complex business aspirations into high-quality functional specifications, ensuring the "Why" (business value) is defined before the "How" (technical configuration).
  • Directly author and maintain comprehensive documentation for SAP configurations, business processes, and technical troubleshooting guides, while establishing standards for the team’s documentation output.
  • Drive end-to-end change management protocols, safeguarding business continuity through rigorous UAT and formal stakeholder sign-off.
  • Manage external implementation partners and offshore resources to ensure adherence to strict SLAs, budget constraints, and architectural standards. Serve as the primary escalation point for vendor performance.
  • Lead and mentor a team of SAP specialists, fostering collaboration and providing guidance on best practices and continuous improvement.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing Enterprise Application landscapes, with at least 5 years dedicated to technical SAP leadership and the delivery of high-impact solutions through close partnership with business stakeholders
  • Strong ERP knowledge and cross-functional understanding with hands-on experience in related SAP applications/modules like Sales & Distribution, Inventory, Costing, Manufacturing, Planning, and Project Systems with an understanding of Financials as an advantage
  • Clear understanding of end-to-end integration architecture between S/4HANA and the broader ecosystem, including SAP products (e.g. C4C, AVC, CPQ) and critical third-party solutions (e.g., Avalara, Medius)
  • Extensive experience with SAP system upgrades, complex system enhancements, and high-priority production support.
  • Strong familiarity with SAP cloud offerings and BTP is highly desirable to support the organization’s future-state
  • This position is located onsite in Syracuse, NY at our corporate headquarters. We may consider hybrid.
