We are currently hiring an IT Assistant for the RBC Canadian Open. This role is ideal for individuals who are comfortable working with technology in a fast-paced live event environment and enjoy hands-on problem solving.

Successful candidates will support event technology operations, including POS systems, mobile devices, cabling, and troubleshooting on-site technical issues. Training will be provided on all event-specific systems and equipment. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to remain calm under pressure while working in a dynamic event setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • POS & Technology Support Staff are members of the Operations Team and report directly to the Operations Manager.
  • Assist with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of POS systems and related event technology.
  • Provide hands-on support for device setup, cabling, and equipment installations across event locations.
  • Support both IOS and Android mobile devices used during event operations.
  • Troubleshoot technical and connectivity issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly before and during event operations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, vendors, and event staff regarding technical concerns.
  • Maintain organized workspaces and safely handle technical equipment and cables.
  • Provide support during event opening and closing procedures as required.
  • Adapt quickly to changing event needs and operational priorities.

Qualifications

Qualifications 

  • Previous experience in technical support, event technology, POS systems, or related operational roles preferred.
  • POS experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Comfortable working with computers, tablets, and mobile technology.
  • Knowledge of IOS and Android operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with cabling and equipment setup preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Reliable, dependable, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work long shifts in a fast-paced event environment.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving equipment as required.

Work Environment 

  • In-person role based in Caledon.
  • Fast-paced live event and hospitality environment.
  • Extended periods of standing and walking required.
  •  Day, evening, and extended shifts required during tournament operations.

Position Details 

  • Job Type: Fixed-Term Contract
  • Contract Length: Approximately 1 week
  • Pay Rate: Employee will be paid a daily rate of $275/day 
  • Schedule:
    • 10-hour shifts 
    • 12-hour shifts 
    • Day shift 
    • Evening shift 
  • Language Requirement: English (required)
  • Work Location: In person – Caledon, ON
