Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Information Technology (IT) User & Network Services (UNS)/Customer 

Service Support (CSS) provides Information Technology Service Desk (IT SERVICE DESK) support to over 90,000 customers nationwide. The IT SERVICE DESK is the front door to all Information Technology 

services and requests, providing 24x7 service, 365 days of the year.


Job Responsibilities:

•Responsible for maintaining operational security posture, situational awareness and initiating actions to improve or restore cybersecurity postures. Assist in enforcing cybersecurity policies, procedures and countermeasures IAW AF cybersecurity instructions and publications.

•Supports the development, implementation, overseeing and maintaining of the organization’s cybersecurity program as it relates to personnel, processes, and procedures. Ensures and validates compliance with cybersecurity publications such as COMSEC (Communications Security), COMPUSEC (Computer Security), TEMPEST (formerly known as emissions security), and others.

•Ensures all users have completed cybersecurity training before granting access to AF information systems, reports vulnerabilities and incidents, and coordinates all configuration changes with cybersecurity office. Documents, operates, uses, maintains, and disposes of all acquired assets IAW security A&A documentation.

•Initiates protective or corrective measures in response to a cybersecurity incident or vulnerability and requests temporary and permanent exceptions, deviations, or waivers to cybersecurity requirements and maintains all authorized user network access documents IAW cybersecurity publications.

•Provides future financial planning, upgrades, roadmap considerations, and strategic planning to include supplying technical and analytical support to for analyzing and implementing solutions to improve management of information systems. Provides the full range of LAN, PC, and cellular support services that includes central network management; PC HW maintenance; cellular administration; and network studies.

•Provides desktop system purchasing assistance and reacts to critical, time-sensitive issues and provide 24-hour-per-day 7 days-per-week on-call LAN support after normal business hours and respond to support requests within 2 hours of notification.

•Supports long-term projects and develops and maintains service level agreements and operating instructions. Provides IT analytical and technical support to assist in identifying originators and users of shared program and requirement information using approved procedures and for new capabilities. Assesses capability requirements, associated capability gaps and facilitates fielding of capability solutions throughout ACC.

•Delivers analytical and technical support to ensure the timely and accurate flow of information between the source and its end users. Configures network SW parameters for the new locations and resolves connectivity issues quickly.

•Recommends HW and SW needed to implement plans that emphasize the use of existing resources with minimal additional investments. Provides technical support for information dissemination and retrieval systems supporting web, file, cellular and print services. Coordinates with the SW License Manager and Equipment Custodian to ensure suspenses are met with minimal downtime.

•Supports TS/SCI/SAP Information System Security Programs to include managing the overall program information security ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of program data to include Advance Fighter Development data.

•Interprets information systems security principles, information systems security guides, concepts, regulations, and standards and provides information systems security guidance to managers, supervisors, and other staff agencies.



Job Requirements:

•SECRET DOD Clearance (TS Preferred)

•Security Plus Certificate (IAT LVII).

•CompTIA Security + certification - required (valid certification on day one of employment).

•1 Year network administration experience.

•Windows Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 10).

•Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.

•Microsoft Office Products (O365/2016) Teams, Skype for Business, Outlook.

•Ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently to comply with metric requirements.

•Proficient with computer, network and server hardware.

•Strong troubleshooting skills on both hardware and software

•Leadership skills.

•Strong customer service skills.

•Strong written and verbal communication skills.

•Self-motivated to work on behalf of the customer, the contract and section performance.

•Ability to work in a team environment.
