Irrigation Groundsman

Moon Valley Nurseries is seeking an experienced Irrigation Helper / Laborer / Groundsman to assist with irrigation installation services for residential and commercial clients. This role is responsible for assisting the Irrigation Foreman with day-to-day installation activities while upholding Moon Valley Nurseries’ standards of quality, safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has a background in irrigation installation and a basic understanding of landscape operations. This individual must be dependable, willing to learn, able to perform physically demanding work, and capable of following direction and established safety procedures.

• Assist the Irrigation Foreman with day-to-day irrigation installation activities
• Perform field work including trenching, digging, installing irrigation lines, and installing various irrigation components throughout the property
• Use hand tools, including various shovels, as well as power tools and other applicable equipment
• Ensure the safe and proper use of all tools, equipment, and materials
• Follow training, company procedures, and safety requirements while working as part of the irrigation crew
• Clean, organize, and maintain the job site throughout the installation process
• Work collaboratively with the crew to complete assigned tasks and ensure projects are completed efficiently and to company standards
• Provide exceptional customer service while representing the Moon Valley Nurseries brand with professionalism and integrity
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and develop technical knowledge within irrigation installation

This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. We work collaboratively and new responsibilities may be assigned over time.

• Minimum 1+ year of experience with irrigation systems and irrigation installations, along with experience in landscaping or related field work
• General landscaping experience or experience in a related field with exposure to irrigation may also qualify. This position requires greater technical aptitude than a typical general labor role, as the employee will actively participate in irrigation installations
• General labor experience with power tools, hand tools, and other equipment preferred
• Ability to follow specific instructions, training, and safety protocols
• Ability to perform manual labor and physically demanding work for extended periods
• Comfortable using digital tools and mobile applications
• Dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn and grow within the irrigation team

High school diploma or equivalent experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and digging throughout the workday.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. The employee must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in potentially extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
