The Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all technical project management activities defined within the customer contract, ensuring successful delivery in terms of quality, schedule, scope, and risk management.
Acting as the primary technical interface between the customer and the project organization and serves as the first point of technical escalation for customer-related issues. The role ensures that technical deliverables meet contractual obligations, customer expectations, and business objectives while maintaining project governance and operational excellence.
- Act as the main technical interface toward the customer and the first point of technical escalation, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues and risks.
- Manage all technical aspects of customer projects, ensuring delivery of contractual commitments in terms of scope, quality, schedule, risk management, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead the planning, organization, coordination, and governance of technical project activities from solution definition and delivery preparation through deployment, acceptance, and operational handover.
- Support the Project Execution Owner (PEO) in project planning, execution governance, customer acceptance, and final delivery sign-off.
- Assess technical workload, resource requirements, and competency needs; ensure appropriate allocation, onboarding, utilization, and release of technical resources.
- Perform technical risk assessments, identify potential impacts, and drive effective mitigation and contingency plans throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and promote opportunities for business growth and service expansion, including network evolution, feature enablement, capacity expansion, software enhancements, and modernization initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and decision-making support to project teams while fostering a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
Must-Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with proven experience working for a Communications Service Provider (CSP) or telecom equipment/vendor organization.
- Strong technical background in IP networking technologies and extensive hands-on experience with Nokia IP product portfolio, network protocols, routing and switching technologies, and network management systems.
- Proven track record of leading technical projects from initiation through execution, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, quality, and budget targets.
- Strong customer-facing experience, communication, presentation, negotiation, and reporting skills with fluency in spoken and written English.
Nice to have:
- Good understanding of 3GPP mobile network technologies, including GSM, GPRS, UMTS, HSPA, LTE, and 5G architectures.
- Familiarity with virtualization and cloud technologies such as OpenStack, VMware, NFV, and cloud-native environments.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, Shell scripting) to support network automation and operational efficiency.
- Nokia Service Routing Architect (SRA) / Nokia NRS II certification.
- PMP® certifications or equivalent are considered a strong advantage.
