Job Responsibilities:
Network Design and Implementation:
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IP networks in the Reno area.
- Develop and execute network plans, considering factors such as scalability, security, and performance.
Configuration and Troubleshooting:
- Configure and optimize MikroTik routers, switches, and other networking equipment.
- Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.
Security Implementation:
- Implement robust security measures to safeguard the network infrastructure.
- Stay updated on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities to proactively address potential risks.
Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor network performance and analyze data to ensure optimal functionality.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to achieve better efficiency.
Documentation:
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Create and update network diagrams, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT support, system administrators, and security professionals.
- Participate in project planning and coordination to ensure successful implementation of networking solutions.
Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to junior engineers and other team members.
- Assist in the development of training materials and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a MikroTik IP Engineer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of MikroTik RouterOS and related networking technologies.
- Strong understanding of IP protocols, routing, and subnetting.
- Experience in designing and implementing secure and scalable networks.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications such as MikroTik Certified Network Associate (MTCNA) and MikroTik Certified Routing Engineer (MTCRE) are a plus.
