Responsibilities

Role Description

As an IP Analyst II here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a crucial role in protecting and managing Honeywell Aerospace's intellectual property assets. You will support the IP team in developing and implementing IP strategies to safeguard company’s innovations. Your expertise in patent law will be essential in managing the IP portfolio and providing guidance to business units on IP matters.


In this role, you will impact Honeywell's ability to protect its innovations, maintain a strong IP portfolio, and drive business growth through strategic IP management.


Qualifications

Key responsibilities:

  1. Prepare responses to office actions and communicate effectively with patent examiners
  2. Collaborate closely with inventors and technical teams to understand inventions and draft accurate responses
  3. Conduct comprehensive patent searches and analyze prior art to determine patentability and freedom to operate
  4. Manage and maintain the patent portfolio, including tracking deadlines and renewals
  5. Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on patent-related matters

 

Must Have

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Communication or Computer Science Engineering.
  2. 3+ years of experience in intellectual property function.
  3. Hands-on experience in patent prosecution and application drafting

  1. Patent prosecution skills such as drafting response for US and Non-US office action is a must.
  2. Application drafting experience will be a plus.
  3. Very good understanding of US, EP and India patenting systems.
  4. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  6. Excellent understanding of navigating through Patent Office website, Questel Orbit is a must.
  7. Dynamically manage multiple expectations and conflicting priorities. 
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent presentation skills.
  9. Excellent personal leadership, interpersonal skills and team player.
  10. Strong organizational and time management skills.

 

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Communication or Computer Science Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in intellectual property function
  • Hands-on experience in patent prosecution and application drafting
  • Experience preparing responses to US and non-US office actions and interacting with patent examiners
  • Experience using Patent Office websites and Questel Orbit for patent searching and docketing
  • Very good understanding of US, EP and India patenting systems
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
