Job DescriptionService Description
As an IoT Center of Expertise Associate, you will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions within the organisation. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify needs, design solutions, test prototypes, and ensure smooth deployment and integration of IoT technologies.
The role is hands‑on, covering devices, connectivity, cloud platforms, and analytics tools.
Key Responsibilities
1. IoT Design & Development
- Support stakeholders in gathering and analysing IoT project requirements.
- Contribute to system design and architecture, including device selection, connectivity, and data flows.
- Build proof‑of‑concept prototypes to validate solution feasibility.
2. Implementation & Deployment Support
- Install, configure, and test IoT devices, sensors, and gateways.
- Ensure secure, reliable connectivity to the network infrastructure.
- Assist with integration into existing systems and applications.
- Troubleshoot issues during deployment and operation.
3. Research & Innovation
- Monitor emerging IoT technologies, protocols, and industry best practices.
- Evaluate tools, platforms, and frameworks relevant to IoT.
- Advise on new trends and their potential impact on the organisation.
4. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work with software engineers, data scientists, and network specialists to ensure interoperability.
- Join technical discussions and contribute insights during requirement‑gathering phases.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Produce technical documentation (architecture specs, user guides, operating procedures).
- Prepare status updates, reports, and recommendations for CoE leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Dutch and/or French, and English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Solid understanding of IoT concepts, architectures, and communication protocols.
- Knowledge of relevant platforms (e.g., Azure IoT, Kafka, MongoDB, Kubernetes).
- Experience as a Full Stack Developer is an asset.
- Familiarity with device integration, data acquisition, and IoT analytics.
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, MQTT, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Clear communication and solid interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a technical team environment.
- Demonstrated adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies.
