Job Scope:
500 Global is a global venture capital firm seeking a detail-oriented, self-directed and highly motivated person to join our Southeast Asia team. This role involves heavy project management of legal and operational processes across investment teams and internal and external legal counsel as well as direct interface with portfolio companies. Thus, we are looking for a self-starter with strong time management skills, diligent communication, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
This role requires the employee to be in the Kuala Lumpur office full-time.
Essential Functions
- Partner with internal and external legal counsels to review legal agreements and ancillary documents
- Lead legal due diligence for new investments following agreement of commercial terms
- Lead legal processes for new investments and divestments following agreement of commercial terms
- Lead legal aspects of portfolio management including reviewing all investor-related matters
- Advise and execute on the optimal legal structures and processes for new investments and divestments
- Project manage all requests from portfolio companies (i.e. financing rounds, transactions, material changes, etc)
- Extract critical investment data from documentation, and reconcile, maintain and update internal trackers
- Support finance and investment teams in quarterly fund accounting and audit-related processes
- Propose solutions to optimize legal + operations workflows, including the use of AI to reduce manual workload
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a professional corporate environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and drive to achieve ambitious goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of venture capital or private equity
