The Role

We are growing our investment team and looking to hire associates and VPs. This is a rare opportunity to work closely and directly with the WndrCo partners on every aspect of the investing business - sourcing and assessing investment opportunities, building new companies, collaborating closely with exceptional founders building in the future of work, consumer tech, and developer infra.

WndrCo's Build strategy includes partnering with a founder/CEO to create a new company. To accelerate the timeline, we will sometimes buy a company as part of the build. The primary responsibilities for this role are to complement the WndrCo partners' deep operating experience with financial transaction experience: sourcing, in-depth diligence, and all aspects of deal execution.

What We Look For

  • Hustle: You should be proactive and develop a keen aptitude for identifying promising investment opportunities. While sourcing is not the sole focus of this role, we expect every investment team member to develop deal flow over time.

  • Intellectual Curiosity: You should demonstrate genuine passion and curiosity about new products, technologies, and industry trends. This extends to interest in general business history and the evolution of markets and business models over time.

  • Thorough and Efficient Research: We evaluate thousands of deals per year, and we expect you to do research and diligence with speed and efficiency to uncover key insights.

  • Analytical Rigor: You should be fluent in assessing and valuing businesses from financial and quantitative data, including market sizing, funnel assessment, and cohort-based retention.

  • Strong and Persuasive Communicator: You should have strong verbal and written communication skills. You should be able to present and defend your viewpoints with conviction, while being flexible to revise them based on new evidence. We expect you to write investment memos that are clear, brief, and incisive.

  • Comfort with Dynamic Work Environment: You should be comfortable in a fast-paced, startup-like environment, demonstrating high self-motivation and ability to juggle many workstreams and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investment Analysis: Lead due diligence of active investment opportunities, including market research, dogfooding products, reading reviews and forums, calls with experts in our network and via online platforms. Lead the drafting of investment memos for investments.

  • Deal Sourcing: Actively source new investment opportunities through networking, organizing dinners and events, and direct outreach.

  • Deal Execution: Financial modeling, scenario analysis, valuation, transaction structuring, and all aspects of deal execution

  • Investment Research: Develop subject matter expertise in specific subsectors, produce and publish research on industry trends and potential investments.

  • Portfolio Management: Assist in ongoing support of portfolio companies and assisting with strategic initiatives: fundraising, market analysis, M&A.
