POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an Investment Analyst to join our growing and dynamic team.
The Analyst’s primary job responsibility will be to support the Asset Management Team in the oversight and management of residential whole loans and real estate owned properties.
This role is responsible for independently managing the execution of residential mortgage loan transactions across loan acquisitions, sales, financings, and securitizations. The Analyst/Associate will oversee transactions from trade acceptance through settlement and post-closing while partnering closely with internal stakeholders, clients, counterparties, and service providers.
The ideal candidate has experience executing whole loan transactions, possesses strong organizational and analytical skills, and can successfully manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously. This position serves as a key coordinator across Capital Markets, Asset Management, Finance & Accounting, Legal, Operations, and external counterparties to ensure timely and accurate transaction execution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Independently manage residential mortgage loan transactions (acquisitions, sales, warehouse financings, and securitizations) from trade execution through settlement and post-close activities.
Develop and maintain transaction timelines, ensuring milestones and deliverables are completed on schedule.
Manage counterparty onboarding and ensure internal approvals are completed prior to execution.
Coordinate due diligence activities with third-party diligence firms, internal teams, clients, and sellers.
Track, report, analyze and cure loan due diligence findings based on compliance, credit, title, valuation, servicing data, and collateral
Track diligence exceptions, stipulations, and issue resolution through closing.
Identify and target high-risk issues to make suitable recommendations to trading desk for re-pricing / drop adjustments for whole loan acquisitions and sales and for third parties via advisory agreements
Prepare, validate, and distribute collateral tapes, loan data, and transaction reporting.
Coordinate settlement activities, funding schedules, collateral transfers, and post-closing reconciliations.
Coordinate execution of transaction documentation, including:
Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
Bid stipulations
Mortgage Loan Purchase Agreements (MLPAs)
Interim Servicing Agreements (ISAs)
Trade confirmations
Custodial and bailee agreements
Support financing and securitization transactions through coordination with dealers, trustees, custodians, rating agencies, and warehouse lenders.
Partner with Finance & Accounting to support invoicing, settlement reporting, and revenue recognition.
Maintain transaction pipeline reporting and settlement forecasts.
Identify opportunities to improve transaction processes and operational efficiency.
Assist in implementation of technology initiatives and workflow enhancements.
Build strong working relationships with trading desk, clients, originators, servicers, diligence providers, and counterparties.
Mentor analysts and junior team members on transaction processes and best practices.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
1–4 years of experience in residential mortgage finance, capital markets, structured credit, or securitization.
Experience managing residential whole loan transactions through closing.
Working knowledge of:
Mortgage Loan Purchase Agreements (MLPAs)
Interim Servicing Agreements (ISAs)
Residential mortgage transaction documentation
RMBS execution process
Loan-level collateral data
Servicing transfers
Understanding of settlement mechanics and transaction funding.
Strong Excel skills, including dynamic arrays, power query, SQL connections, etc.
Experience working with large loan-level datasets.
SQL and Python experience preferred but not required.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
