Fama is currently seeking an Investigative Research Associate to execute the fulfillment of Fama’s Press Check reports. This is a unique opportunity to help our company scale and meet our unique client needs. We’re looking for someone confident in their research and writing abilities, who has solid organizational and time management skills, and who is comfortable working within a remote team and working independently.
What is a press check? Press Checks are news and litigation background searches focused on identifying client-relevant content for executive hiring and due diligence reporting. This role will work in multiple systems, creating press check reports using various third-party databases and machine learning tools and writing report summaries. Specific databases include various LexisNexis tools and PACER.
Who you are:
- Related degree types (not required) or equivalent experiences well-suited for this role: English, History, Psychology, Sociology, Liberal Arts, Library Sciences, Criminal Justice, etc. (anything that involves intensive research and writing)
- Research skills with strong writing disciplines such as analyzing data and literature, problem-solving, and the ability to provide results of an investigation search in written summaries.
- Strong multitasker, effective and efficient communicator with team members, and attention to detail oriented.
- Flourishes in fast-paced production environments with metrics, standardized processes, and quality assurance deliverables.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with a team of researchers for both individual and joint report fulfillment, including:
- Comprehensive search and analysis of news and litigation content
- Executive summarization of relevant news and litigation content
- Be in tune with operations production schedules and deliver customized reports
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience as a researcher in executive search, due diligence, or related industries, preferred
- Advanced understanding of database research and custom queries/boolean searching
- Specific experience with LexisNexis or PACER is a plus
- Demonstrated working knowledge with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Adobe applications for daily writing responsibilities.
- Demonstrated work or equivalent experience analyzing and conveying specific information about an issue, event, or project.
- Possesses the ability to obtain conclusions and provide recommendations based on findings in written or verbal communications.
- Must be capable of effectively communicating with team members via video and other digital communication tools.
