You will be based in El Paso, but will working with our Juarez Mexico manufacturing facility.
Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics and Inventory Controller with extensive freight booking experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our inventory levels, coordinating logistics activities, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective transportation of goods. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Manage incoming inspection of materials upon arrival to the warehouse
- Support timely exportation inventory to meet production and sales demands.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Efficiency manage transactions in the ERP system
- Logistics Coordination:
- Collaborate with the export team to plan and coordinate the transportation of goods from the exportation warehouse to the final customer locations.
- Negotiate and book freight with carriers, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.
- Track shipments and address any issues or delays promptly.
- Maintain relationships with logistics providers and negotiate contracts and rates.
- Data Reporting:
- Maintain clear records to support efficiency of material movement, accuracy of customer shipments and inventory levels.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping and inventory records.
- Manage import/export documentation and customs clearance processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with supply chain, production, sales, and customer service teams to align logistics and inventory activities with business goals.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- 5 to 7 years of logistics and inventory management experience, demonstrating a self-starter attitude and the ability to work independently.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Proven experience with an ERP system and digital record-keeping, ensuring accurate and efficient data management.
- At least 2 years of experience in managing freight forwarder selection and negotiations, with a strong understanding of contract terms and cost management.
- Extensive experience with international shipping and customs regulations, including import/export documentation and compliance requirements.
- Strong proficiency in using computers, particularly in managing Excel spreadsheets, ERP system entries, and communication tools such as Email, Slack, and Zoom.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
