Mailchimp designed our 12 week paid internship program to help students grow their skillset, create lasting connections, and do meaningful work. Along with helping our interns grow professionally, we're also committed to their personal growth and provide various soft skill classes while also hosting fun events along the way!

Our program is open to students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, bootcamp, and online courses - all candidates must be enrolled through the duration of the program.

Start Dates: May 16th & June 13th

The programming department is seeking a podcast intern to learn about and work on podcasts, particularly the small business-focused podcast, Call Paul.

This position will work closely with the programming team to research, pre-interview and secure small businesses (that use Mailchimp) in our small business spotlight initiative, an in-kind audio ad promoting a small business in our podcasts. 

On a day-to-day basis, the position will also work closely with podcast manager on reviewing podcast interviewing scripts, creating papercuts to be used for hosts to read voice over from and for producers to use as a blueprint to edit podcasts episodes from. In addition the position will help create show briefs and other assets used for creating marketing assets to support the podcasts. 

Additional duties include reviewing audio cuts and giving feedback, updating production schedules and working on intersecting projects, such as Mailchimp stores related to podcast promotion. 


What you'll do here: 

  • Research Mailchimp companies to profile as a small business spotlight
  • Coordinate and assist with guest outreach and scheduling 
  • Collaborate with Call Paul production team on guest selection and transcript writing
  • Write and edit show notes
  • Listen to multiple rounds of podcast audio and provide feedback within set deadlines
  • Collaborate with podcast manager on script writing and editing 
  • Collaborate with production partners as needed; providing production support with scheduling
  • Some instances of audio editing

We'd love to hear from you if you: 

  • Have audio editing experience (Adobe Audition, GarageBand, Hindenburg)
  • Have previous podcast creation experiences (preferred)
  • Are detail-oriented
  • Have a positive attitude and are a team player 
  • Have excellent written communication
  • Are extremely well organized and a proactive and effective communicator
  • Have interest in telling stories of small business owners and entrepreneurs
