About This Job

The Intern, Professional Services is responsible for providing professional administrative and technical support to Orion. Each internship opportunity is designed to provide a valuable work experience in the student's area of interest, while receiving on the job training.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Assists Professional Services Manager with advisor-specific projects as needed.
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams from multiple parts of the organization to identify, action plan and implement best-in-class client experiences.
  • Assists with content development and design for training materials, program artifacts, infographics, and reporting.
  • Retrieves and imports investment transactions for all accounts managed by the Professional Services Team.
  • Assists in the integration of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology with data entry workflows.
  • Runs audit reports within client databases to inspect data and fix exception reports as needed.
  • Compares and evaluates data within electronic system against electronic files.
  • Analyzes client requests and deduces and explores possible solutions or forwards request on to appropriate department following-through until resolution.
  • Audits performance runs on client accounts highlighting unusual performance numbers; reviews and remedies all data issues discovered.
  • Utilizes various alternatives and troubleshooting methods to fix issues found during audit reports within client database.
  • Keeps accurate timesheets for billable projects and ongoing billable relationships.


Skills Needed to Perform the Job

  • Knowledge of investment accounting a plus
  • Ability to work autonomously and execute projects with minimal direction.
  • Ability to analyze basic data trends and create simple data visualizations.
  • Ability to collaborate with business partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service.

Ability to interact with other departments in the organization.

  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining careful attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and within a team environment.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and address competing priorities.
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Effective written, listening and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective problem solving and organizational skills.


Education Needed to Perform the Job

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • At least a current student in Junior or Senior standing working towards a bachelors degree in an applicable field required.
  • Orion Industry Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.


Experience Needed to Perform the Job

  • Prior experience in a relevant administrative or customer service role preferred.
