Overview

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, self-starter interested in pursuing a career in Product Management or Product Marketing/Communication to join our Product Management team as a full-time intern from May to August 2022. Ability to extend internship into the following fall / spring semester as part-time. This position will support the Lottery Product Management team responsible for vision, strategy, and roadmap, and communication of the Lottery product portfolio.

You will train with team members to develop an understanding of Lottery industry, product management processes with focus on UI/UX design and product communication; learning how copywriting and editing skills apply to digital product development and the critical role they play in crafting easy to use, intuitive user interface. This role helps to create the brand or product voice and makes sure everyone in the organization can easily understand and use that voice.

Experience working hybrid from our downtown Providence, RI location! Our Providence headquarters features an eatery, fitness center, and state-of-the-art Product Experience Lab. Gain hands-on experience in the Product Experience Lab for a project you will be working on throughout your time as an intern.

About the Team
This role will report directly to a Director, Product Content Strategy and have exposure to multiple business partners including engineering, marketing, sales, and more. You will have the opportunity to receive mentorship and foster relationships with members of the Product Management team of various experience levels and areas of expertise.

Responsibilities
• Learn about IGT's Verbal Style Guide, outlining the writing principles and guidelines for the copy used within the product portfolio with a mission to make digital products easy to use.• Perform an audit of copy in assigned products (text on buttons, menus, error messages etc.), identify inconsistencies with the verbal style guide and provide recommendations to improve user experience. • Develop a self-guided tour of our product experience lab, allowing individuals without product knowledge to understand our product portfolio and benefits it offers. Partner with the design team to create a virtual tour. • Assists with drafting product presentations and documents.

As a part of these efforts, you will gain the knowledge of UI/UX design process and understand the role of a UX Writer - rapidly growing new position that has both a low barrier of entry and enormous career potential. You will learn how to persuasively express products features and benefits for different audiences in a concise and compelling manner.

Qualifications
• MS Office knowledge• Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills. Writing samples required.• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.• Must be able to work 37.5 hours/week during the summer with possibility of extension into the fall / spring semester at a minimum of 12 hours/week.• Currently enrolled in an English, journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, or related program.
