As a JavaScript Developer intern, you'll refine your skills while creating web applications using React. You'll build a lot—components, games, a custom application, and more. You'll learn industry best practices for testing and how to apply them to your work. You'll join development team meetings and collaborate in pair programming sessions. 

You'll also experience the entire process of a digital project, including UX and design, by working with and shadowing members of other teams. You'll join client meetings to experience presentations and consultations firsthand. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to client work and internal Viget initiatives, and you'll meet regularly with your Advisor to discuss your progress on personalized learning goals.

The Basics

• The internship program is offered at all four of our office locations (Falls Church, VA; Durham, NC; Chattanooga, TN; and Boulder, CO) and includes flexibility to WFH (Work From Home).
• The internship lasts 10 weeks, from June 6 to August 12.
• Interns will be expected to work 40 hours/week (usually 9-5, M-F, but we can be flexible).
• Relocation is not provided.

What We Look For (You may not have all of these, and that's okay!)

• You have experience developing web applications using JavaScript and frameworks such as Vue and React.
• You are interested in creating native mobile applications using Swift, Kotlin, or frameworks like React Native.
• You advocate for a great user experience in all of your work.
• You have some formal software development training.
• You are collaborative. You'd enjoy working alongside both our front-end development and design teams.
• You get things done. No matter what you're doing, you take pride in your work. You enjoy responsibility and you know that real effort pays off daily.
• You’re a strong communicator and are eager to collaborate with peers. You’d enjoy working alongside user experience and visual designers, front-end developers, data analysts, and project managers to learn how we produce quality digital products and software.
• You are currently enrolled in college, preferably as a junior or senior. We also consider graduate students and recent grads in some cases.
• You have top grades or a track record of success.
• You have the permanent, legal right to work in the US. We are unable to sponsor visas at this time.

• We offer $550/week ($5,500/summer), paid monthly on a pro rata basis. Course credit is also an option.

• We offer several opportunities to connect with coworkers each week, both in-person and virtually, including our weekly all-hands meeting.
• You’ll experience Viget at its most vigorous. Whether you’re remote or in an office, you’ll participate in summer activities, challenges, hang-outs, etc.
