Intern - Sales & Recruiting - Job Description

A Sales & Recruiting Intern is responsible for performing the recruitment function, which consists of recruitment advertising, candidate screening/interviewing, and selection of staff to fill current or future client job opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment
    • Conduct phone or in-person screen conversations with applicants to determine if we can assist them in their job search
    • Conduct work references, educational verifications, drug screens, and any other employment verifications required by the company or client prior to extending a job offer
    • At the conclusion of the call, market our services to the prospective employer to generate future business
    • Utilize personal network and social media to market career opportunities to prospective candidates and initiate the application process
  • Sales & Recruiting Support
    • Answer incoming telephone calls in a timely, courteous manner, professionally transfer the caller to the appropriate staff member, take a message, or answer their inquiry
    • Process and distribute daily mail/fax documents, file, or enter business information as required
    • Assist with job postings, assessment administration, e-files, job inquiries, and related tasks associated with prospective candidates
  • Operational and Systems
    • Gain familiarity with the staffing industry
    • Gain familiarity with Remi
    • Complete assignments and projects
    • Prepare and give a presentation on your internship experience to executives and management
    • Complete and understand the DiSC/Strengths Finder assessments
  • Behavioral Competencies
    • Attitude & Effort: Displays a willingness to learn, accepts coaching/feedback, and practices the effort/activity required to succeed
    • Customer Satisfaction: Provides prompt, quality service to internal and external customers, creates effective working relationships and works to resolve issues effectively and professionally

    • Time Management: Prioritizes job duties and organizes work responsibilities efficiently by planning and time-blocking

  • Systems & Tools
    • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing computer systems/applications (i.e., MS Office, Remi, Notes, Internet) to satisfactorily perform the job functions and duties associated with the position
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or as the situation dictates.
Job Qualifications:
  • The ability to:
    • Utilize a touch-tone telephone, view a PC screen, type at least 35 words per minute, and demonstrate proficiency in basic Windows operations
    • Speak and write professionally and follow oral or written instructions
    • Establish a working relationship with employees, clients, and candidates
    • Organize workload, multi-task, and work with a sense of urgency and efficiency
    • Use MS Office software applications where applicable
    • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations
    • Perform basic business math computations
  • High school education required
  • Pursuit of a college degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
