Summary
The Opportunity
Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks a self-motivated project coordinator, to work with our Sales & Events Operations team. As a project coordinator in the organization, you will be a part of a 15-person organization to support our hotel sales and events operations. You will be collaborating closely with the broader Global Hotel Operational Services Teams, and internal stakeholders within Global Operations, where you'll be instrumental in continuing to make Hyatt a leading hospitality company.

The Role Project Coordinator works alongside the Regional Vice President of Global Sales & Events, who is also the Chair-Emeritus of Women@Hyatt, a diversity business resource group. This position will support various activities across the sales and events systems. This includes outreach across multiple departments within Hyatt maximizing this position's exposure to other leaders in the organization. Duties include managing and updating the plan, coordinating cross-functional discussions with key stakeholders, ensuring follow-through of tasks, and drafting communication of quarterly updates.
On a normal day, the Project Coordinator may work alone or with a team. A successful candidate will undertake the following duties and more as instructed by the AVP of Sales & Events:
- Liaising with project stakeholders concerning project details and deliverables
- Assisting in the planning and implementation of projects
- Helping to coordinate and manage project tasks and deliverables
- Analyzing data as required
- Conducting administrative duties, such as setting up meetings, drafting recap reports
- Tracking and reporting project progress
- Performing other duties assigned in an orderly and efficient manner
This position contributes to Hyatt's goal to modernize, simplify, automate, transform, and elevate processes and tools to differentiate Hyatt from its competition and to make the support of hotel operations strategic assets of the company as part of a more integrated Commercial Services hotel support offering.

Qualifications
Experience Required:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Excellent and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • While not a traveling job, this role could require some travel within Illinois for potential hotel visits.


Experience Preferred:

  • Previous work experience is a strong plus.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking in additional languages in addition to English a strong plus.
  • Moderate experience with SmartSheets.
  • Bachelor's degree in communication, Hospitality, or a related field.
