Intern - Legal
Overview
This year, the Novant Health Legal department has partnered with the Mecklenburg County Bar Association to participate in its Charlotte Legal Diversity Clerkship program ("CLDC") to provide a paid internship opportunity to one rising second-year law student. The CLDC Clerk will have the opportunity to work with the Novant Health legal department on drafting routine contracts, letters, and other legal documents. Additionally, the intern will partake in legal research and writing, calls and meetings with senior leadership, mediations and/or depositions, and other projects as assigned by Novant Health attorneys.
The CLDC Clerk will work closely with attorneys and paralegals in a several practice areas such as:
- Physician contracting
- Cybersecurity and telehealth
- Medical service agreements
- General commercial contracting
- Compliance and regulatory
- Labor and employment
- Patient care
- Medical staff
- Other transactional work

Qualifications
- Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Graduate Degree, enrolled at an accredited law school, required. Participant in the CLDC program, required.
- Experience: Healthcare, human resources or leadership experience, preferred.
- Additional Skills (required):
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient typing skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to work independently
- Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
