Description and Requirements
The Lenovo Experience Design Group is a global group of highly skilled and talented people doing what we love, designing the very best world-class products. During the summer internship, you will be immersed in our team, working together across continents and cultures in a friendly, fast-paced and inspiring work environment. At Lenovo, we design and deliver technology products to a wide range of customers and use cases with brands such as: ThinkPad, Yoga, Ideapad, and our Legion gaming products. By joining the Lenovo EDG team for the summer, you have the opportunity to make a difference for our customers and the consumer electronics industry as a whole. We are looking to add two industrial design interns to our team that will help us conceptualize the future of Lenovo. You will have the opportunity to learn about design at Lenovo, be hands-on in the development process and leave with at least one portfolio piece that you will develop alongside our highly skilled design team.
This role would be a fit for you if you're passionate, optimistic and an excellent collaborator. You will be responsible for crafting thoughtful solutions across a range of product experiences and will play an active role in our internal design team.
Core responsibilities:

  • Work in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
  • Understand and be willing to utilize all stages of the design thinking process
  • Study design trends, customer insights and new technology in order to identify opportunities
  • Ideation, concept visualization, form development, CAD, model making and rapid prototyping
  • Craft and communicate product and experiential concept stories
  • Plan and prioritize to achieve project goals within set timelines


You have:

  • Currently enrolled and working towards a Bachelors or Masters in Industrial Design
  • An excellent portfolio showcasing product & experiential design examples
  • communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills
  • Ability to visualize, craft and articulate complex concepts
  • Proficiency in MS Office (specifically power point)
  • 2D skills: sketching, fluent Adobe Creative Suite
  • 3D skills: Study models, breadboards, proof of principle models and prototypes
  • 3D CAD: fluent SolidWorks and KeyShot
