HID Global is currently looking for an intern to join our Secure Issuance (SI) Desktop Engineering Team and be part of our successful journey. During your internship you will work with our engineers and get the opportunity to learn from the highly qualified staff. We expect you to support our engineering efforts with all aspects of development and quality control.

HID's Secure Issuance Department:

The Secure Issuance Department offers comprehensive secure issuance solutions, which include cloud-based printing, financial instant issuance and a wide range of printers designed to fit your company's needs. This engineering role will help our team to research, develop, maintain, enhance, and customize the embedded solutions which drive HID's Secure Issuance FARGO printers so that they continue to be the most innovative and compelling solutions in the marketplace.

As our Engineering Intern , you'll support HID's success by:

  • Gather insight into many facets of HID Global and its Secure Issuance business segment in particular
  • Obtain a working knowledge of the current FARGO brand of card printers/laminators, materials they utilize, and software (applications and SDK's) which work with them
  • Participate in recurring Agile team events
  • Receive assignments, make commitments, and work towards them during biweekly sprints
  • Observe and utilize best practices utilized during engineering activities, including those focused on:
    • Product development processes
    • Issue tracking
    • Troubleshooting
    • Assignment estimation
    • Status reporting
  • At the conclusion of internship period, provide feedback highlighting what was learned and sharing any recommendations to consider going forward

Your Experience and Education include:

  • A high school graduate (by the start of the internship) and either must plan to pursue or be pursuing a Bachelors (4-year degree) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Availability to work a minimum 20 hours per week (up to 40) for at least 10 weeks
