Who we are looking for
We are looking for an Investment Intern in the infrastructure sector. You will be working in Paris and focus on Private Equity investments.
As part of Schroders Capital Infrastructure, you will assist team members in the origination, structuring and execution of infrastructure investments on behalf of institutional investors. We focus on three main investment themes: essential infrastructure, energy transition and digital transformation. You will have the opportunity to work on infrastructure transactions across several sectors, including renewable energy (wind and solar farms), communication (towers, fibre), social (health, education) and transportation.
The team
Since forming in 2015, Schroders Capital Infrastructure has successfully raised and invested over €4.6bn in equity and debt, focusing on European infrastructure assets. The team comprises 27 employees based in Paris and London and is experiencing rapid growth. The role will be within the Infrastructure Equity team comprising 5 people.
What you will do
The intern will have significant responsibilities from day one and become an integral part of the team, with high levels of interaction with investment professionals, legal and financial advisors, and executive managers of the invested companies. Key responsibilities for the intern will include:
- Assist team members in opportunities analysis, business plan review and due diligence, deal structuring and execution as well as management of existing investments
- Draft investment committee memos and all type of materials supporting pitch and external / internal presentations
- Run financial models and assess the impact of alternative assumptions
- Monitor market data and provide support on ESG related items
- Prepare reporting for assets under management to clients
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
- Degree either completed or due to complete from leading business school, engineering school or university
- Excellent academic background
- One previous internship in one of the following areas is beneficial: M&A, Project Finance, Private Equity or Consulting
- Fluency in English and French
- Strong analytical and writing skills
- Team working spirit – willingness to learn and to evolve in a team with a flat structure
- Interest in the Infrastructure sector
