The International Tax Controller team is a global team responsible for tax reporting and compliance activities across MSCI entities outside the United States. The team supports approximately 60 tax returns across more than 30 countries, spanning Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.
As an International Tax Controller, you’ll own a portfolio of legal entities and support their tax activities throughout the year. You’ll work closely with colleagues across regions, the U.S. tax team and external tax consultants. You do not need to arrive as an expert in every jurisdiction: you’ll learn from experienced colleagues and external advisers as you build your international tax knowledge.

- Own the tax compliance and reporting activities for an assigned portfolio of MSCI legal entities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support monthly, quarterly and year-end tax reporting as part of the financial close process.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of corporate tax returns with external tax consultants.
- Manage recurring tax payments and track filing and payment deadlines across your portfolio.
- Prepare and submit relevant statistical and other tax-related reports.
- Work closely with external tax advisers and internal stakeholders to obtain information, resolve questions and keep deliverables on track.
- Review financial information and supporting documentation required for tax reporting and compliance.
- Take ownership of deadlines, proactively identify issues and escalate questions when additional support is needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues across locations and time zones, sharing knowledge and supporting the wider International Tax Controller team.
- Two to four years of relevant experience in accounting, audit, tax or a related finance role.
- A foundation in accounting or finance, with an interest in developing your international tax knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines across different jurisdictions.
- Careful attention to detail when working with financial data and tax-related documentation.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external advisers.
- A proactive approach to ownership: you’re comfortable progressing work independently and raising questions when you need support.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn about different jurisdictions, processes and tax requirements.
- Experience with SAP is helpful but not required.
