We are looking for an International Payroll Specialist, based in Belgium or The Netherlands, to play a key role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations across multiple countries, while supporting key HR Operations activities.
You will start with a strong focus on Belgian payroll, acting as subject matter expert, and gradually expand into international payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions.
What you’ll be doing? Responsibilities.
- Act as Country Process Owner for assigned countries, ensuring payroll compliance with local legislation and internal standards
- Own and coordinate end-to-end payroll processes across multiple countries with external payroll providers
- Act as Belgian payroll expert (blue- and white-collar), including Protime time registration
- Review payroll calculations, validations, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Manage payroll calendars, cut-offs, submissions, and monthly payroll cycles
- Prepare payroll reporting, accounting outputs (GL files), and support Finance with reconciliations
- Handle Belgian benefits, insurances, Flex Income Plan, and social documentation
- Act as escalation point for complex payroll issues across countries
- Support audits, year-end processes, and compliance requirements
- Drive payroll standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support HR Operations activities such as onboarding, offboarding, contracts, and employee data management in SuccessFactors
- Act as point of contact for payroll and HR-related employee queries
You’ll thrive in this role if you have/are:
- Solid experience in international, multi-country payroll environments
- Strong hands-on expertise in end-to-end payroll processing (European payroll experience required)
- Deep knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, and statutory requirements
- Strong experience with Belgian payroll (PC 200, 302, 217 is a plus)
- Experience working with external payroll providers
- Strong analytical skills (reconciliations, payroll checks, reporting)
- High attention to detail and data accuracy mindset
- Experience in HR Operations / HR Administration
- Proficiency in Protime (required)
- Experience with SuccessFactors and/or Workday (strong plus)
- Comfortable in a matrix, international environment
- Fluent in English and Dutch
- Proactive, structured, and improvement-driven mindset
