At Finastra, we’re a global leader in financial services software, dedicated to expanding access to financial services and shaping what’s next for the industry. Our technology powers mission‑critical solutions across Lending, Payments and Universal Banking, supporting over 7,000 customers, including 80% of the world’s top 50 banks, in more than 110 countries.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Internal Communications Specialist to help establish and lead internal communications for a newly formed business.
This is a hands-on opportunity to build the internal communications approach from the ground up. You’ll develop the strategy, establish channels, standards and ways of working, and personally create communications that connect employees with the organisation’s strategy, priorities, culture and change initiatives.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and deliver the internal communications strategy and editorial calendar, aligning communications with business priorities, transformation and employee engagement objectives.
- Personally write and edit employee communications, leadership updates, announcements, talking points, FAQs, speaker notes, manager briefings and communication toolkits.
- Partner with senior leaders to develop communication plans and messaging for key business priorities and organisational change.
- Manage internal communication channels, including the intranet, email and employee engagement platforms, using the right mix of channels for different audiences and messages.
- Create presentations and communications materials for town halls, employee events, webinars and leadership communications.
- Develop communications that help employees understand business strategy, culture, values and internal initiatives, adapting messaging for both employee and manager audiences.
- Support communications for organisational change, restructuring, acquisitions and wider business transformation.
- Measure communication effectiveness through engagement data, readership, campaign metrics and feedback, using these insights to improve future communications.
- Drive productivity and business performance by embedding AI-enabled automation, improving processes based on value and risk, ensuring trusted data standards, and leveraging insights to support informed decision-making and measurable outcomes.
What we’re looking for
You’ll bring strong end-to-end internal or employee communications experience and be comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on delivery.
Strong writing skills are essential. You’ll need experience personally drafting and delivering employee communications, rather than solely developing frameworks or templates for others to complete.
You’ll also bring:
- Experience across internal communications, employee communications, HR communications, change communications or corporate communications.
- Excellent writing, editing, copywriting and storytelling skills.
- Experience supporting senior leaders and delivering organisation-wide communications.
- Experience developing communication campaigns and supporting change initiatives.
- Experience creating presentations, PowerPoint materials, speaker notes and communications for employee events.
- Experience using internal communication channels and digital platforms such as intranets, SharePoint, Teams or Viva Engage.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work closely with leaders on communication approaches and messaging.
- A hands-on and adaptable approach, with the ability to create structure, standards and processes in an environment where these may not yet exist.
Experience within technology or financial services would be useful, but it isn’t essential. What matters most is strong end-to-end employee communications experience and the ability to establish and deliver communications within a smaller or newly established organisation.
Candidates coming from an agency environment should be able to demonstrate direct employee communications experience and a strong understanding of communicating from an employee perspective.
The opportunity
You’ll play an important role in establishing the new organisation’s internal voice, communications standards and ways of working, while creating the content and channels employees need to stay informed and connected to the business.
