The Role

Frontier Economics is an economics consultancy that tackles the big questions facing governments, businesses and society. We help our clients to analyse and understand their markets and to formulate strategies based on sound economics. The methods and models we use are often complex, but our advice is always succinct, clear and honest

The company has grown rapidly since it was founded almost 27 years ago and currently has around 500 staff working across nine European offices (Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Cologne, Dublin, London, Madrid, Paris and Prague). The company is employee-owned and has a strong culture of openness and employee engagement.

As Internal Communications Manager, you’ll own how information flows across the firm. Helping our people understand strategic decisions, operational priorities and what they mean in practice. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to shape the internal communications going forwards.

About the role

Reporting into the Governance & Strategic Operations team, you’ll own and deliver Frontier’s internal communications strategy.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders and colleagues across the firm to:

  • Set a clear, predictable communication rhythm

  • Translate complex decisions into clear, relevant messages

  • Strengthen trust, transparency and alignment across offices and practices

This role combines strategic thinking, editorial judgement and hands-on delivery.

What you’ll be doing

Setting the strategy and rhythm

  • Developing and delivering a firmwide internal communications plan aligned to strategy and operations

  • Establishing a clear annual communication rhythm linked to governance and business cycles

  • Helping senior leaders plan agendas and key messages for all-firm meetings

  • Translating strategic decisions into messages that land clearly with different audiences

Editorial leadership

  • Acting as editorial lead for all-firm communications, setting standards for tone, clarity and consistency

  • Writing, editing and shaping content across channels from leadership updates to practice and people stories

  • Supporting leaders and colleagues to communicate clearly and naturally, without jargon or over-engineering

  • Maintaining a forward-looking communications calendar to avoid overload and duplication

Channels and platforms

  • Owning the purpose and effective use of internal channels (intranet, newsletters, emails, digital screens and events)

  • Working with IT to improve platforms with a focus on usability and relevance

  • Monitoring engagement and using insight to refine content, timing and channel mix

Delivery, change and collaboration

  • Partnering with Business Management Teams on clear, timely operational communications

  • Supporting major change programmes with thoughtful, well-sequenced communication plans

  • Advising on how sensitive or time-critical messages are framed and delivered

  • Working closely with Practice Managers and the Clients Team to ensure alignment between internal and external messaging

  • Building a strong network of contacts across practices and offices to support two-way communication

Who this role is for

You’re likely to thrive if you:

  • Have strong experience in internal communications or a closely related role

  • Are an excellent writer and editor with sound judgement on tone and timing

  • Can work confidently with senior stakeholders and build relationships across the firm

  • Enjoy balancing long-term planning with hands-on delivery

  • Care about trust, transparency and getting the key messages delivered

At Frontier Economics, we are entirely employee-owned, meaning every team member has a voice in shaping the company’s future. Our collaborative culture encourages innovation, open dialogue, and shared success. Our stimulating and thought-provoking projects are complemented by a supportive and dynamic work environment, designed to help you thrive and grow. We also offer:

  • Hybrid Working: Employees are expected to work in the office at least two days a week, with flexibility for remote work.

What We Do

We help companies with their biggest challenges – market strategies, regulatory reviews, competition inquiries. And we help governments design innovative policies and regulatory systems.

Economics is (nearly) everywhere and the economist’s toolkit is large. Clients are surprised at the breadth of our work. Not just the costs of supply, movements in demand, pricing and competitive dynamics. But we are also experts in finance, statistical modelling, game theory, market research and even the psychological side of economics. And we’ve worked in almost every sector imaginable, from fertilisers and oil rigs to handbags and iPads.

In some sectors, economics is so critical that we’ve also built specialist knowledge. Our powerful tools and sector knowledge are valuable. But we try not to stop there. Making an impact for clients means understanding the issues, whether it’s the commercial reality of the business; what is really driving customer behaviour; or the political context. We are also aware that our clients want clear and simple advice, from people they trust. So we place a lot of emphasis on our communications, and on human relationships. We provide complex analysis but plain language – English, German, French or Spanish.

Our reports are often used in legal proceedings and so our evidential standards are high. We never “write to order”. Our work is respected because we are independent and obsessive about the truth.
We work with clients all over the world and have offices in Berlin, Brussels, Cologne, Dublin, Madrid, London and Paris. Our sister company in Australia works from Sydney and Melbourne
