The Position:
Veracyte is looking for an Internal Audit Associate to join our Internal Audit and Accounting team. You will be responsible for delivering elements of a risk-based internal audit plan across Veracyte. This role adds value by leading, planning and performing the testing on financial and operational audits of control risks through a systematic, disciplined approach in evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of Veracyte's internal controls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of the Internal Audit management, you will lead and participate in Financial, Operational, and SOX audit assignments for Veracyte's domestic and international subsidiaries.
- Conduct process walkthroughs to evaluate design and perform key controls testing to determine effectiveness of internal controls.
- Support development of presentations to discuss internal audit and SOX compliance audit results with management.
- Effectively perform audit assignments from planning through reporting, focusing on continuous improvement and results with a sense of urgency.
- Utilize data analytics tools for all phases of the audit lifecycle.
- Assist in the development of the annual internal audit plan using a risk-based approach.
- Prepare detailed audit reports on the effectiveness of the internal control structure for an executive level audience with observations, recommendations and actions plans to address identified issues. Ensure reported findings are appropriately documented and supported by evidence and present results to management.
- Build positive relationships across the organization at all levels to effectively deliver audit solutions and contribute directly to business success.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2 years in Public Accounting, Internal Auditing, Internal Control Design/Documentation or testing, or a comparable position within a Corporate Finance function
- Experience with one of the Big Four accounting firms is a plus
- Knowledge of internal audit functions, including the ability to apply auditing (GAAS), accounting (GAAP) and or industry standards to operational/financial/compliance audits
- Understanding of internal control concepts and frameworks (COSO, COBIT) and prior experience testing key controls
- Effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain business relationships and develop solutions, emphasizing a client-based focus to understand and respond appropriately to business requirements
- Working knowledge of any data analytics tools and audit management software is a plus

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units. Veracyte is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
