This role will support the Value Added Services (VAS) team within Intelsat that transforms customer experience across all vertical markets - Networks, Media, Mobility and Government. Working with the VAS commercial and technical teams the candidate will support speed to market solutions utilizing standard products to meet customer requirements through design, VAS standard inventory and global field reach to offer solutions and services into operations in often harsh and remote locations.
During the internship the successful candidate will work with the Technical and Commercial wings of VAS to learn and support our BAU. In addition to learning, contributing and improving to what we do, the candidate will take a lead role in delivering a stream of the VAS Standardization program. This internship will be a hybrid role, split between the technical team and the commercial team and will report directly to the VAS Technical Manager.
Are you up to the challenge?

  • Develop an excellent understanding of each BU customer base and market demand for services
  • Work within the VAS Commercial team and closely with Regional Sales to identify market opportunities, recommend options and support closing deals to drive growth for Value Added Services
  • Prepare internal and customer-facing documentation presenting Intelsat's portfolio of Value Added Services
  • Offer Technical support to the VAS Commercial team and wider Sales team to provide solutions that meet the customer requirements.
  • Assist and support the creation of the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) for technical validation
  • Assist the Technical Implementation Manager with the creation of the low-level design, and the Critical Design Review (CDR) documentation.
  • Raise detailed Field Service Requests for integrators to carry out site missions, setting the tasks to be completed and the mission deliverables.
  • Within the VAS Technical Team, provide technical expertise and support to the Customer Service Delivery team for the duration of implementation projects.
  • Validate the technical completion of the project and approve the returning artifacts from integrator.
  • Support the VAS standardization project, leading the Inventory deliverable and contribute to the development of the VAS quote tool.
  • Drive adherence to and showcase VAS processes and standards.
  • Any other tasking as directed by line manager.


You should definitely have:

  • Studying for a Master's Degree in Communications or Electrical/Electronics Engineering or an equivalent degree
  • Computer literacy with MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Desire and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment which includes working on cross-functional teams and demonstrating the flexibility to assume lead or support roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to take lead and manage work in an efficient manner.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and well-developed communication and skills (oral, written, listening, presentation).
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience in English
  • Effectively able to manage competing priorities and handle multiple projects independently.
