POSITION OVERVIEW

The Results Management Division of WADA’s Legal Affairs Department is seeking an intern whose primary responsibility will be to contribute to the development of a case law database on issues related to the implementation of the World Anti-Doping Program. This individual will contribute to two main projects: the first will focus on analyzing and summarizing Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rulings, as well as any other decisions deemed important (particularly those related to athlete whereabouts), and then compiling the information into a database; the second will involve monitoring potential analytical violations that have not yet been decided, and the third will be dedicated to monitoring breaches of athlete whereabouts obligations. In addition to participating in management tasks, the successful candidate will be required to identify potential violations, analyze received decisions, identify existing problems, and contribute to the drafting of emails, letters, and reports related to these projects. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Associate Director, Head of the Results Management Division, and in close collaboration with other members of this division.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation, review, and tracking of Results Management correspondence and consistency with applicable rules and procedures.
  • Support the drafting and summarization of case decisions.
  • Develop and update case studies and practical training materials for Results Management education.
  • Review, organize, and summarize simple case files.
  • Conduct legal research, and prepare concise research summaries to support the Legal Affairs team.
  • Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of Results Management data.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • 2nd or 3rd year law student;
  • Interest in the fight against doping;
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, synthesize, and report;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in one of WADA's two official languages ​​(English/French) and a very good command of the other official language; knowledge of Spanish and German would be an asset;
  • Strong work ethic (dedication, rigor, perseverance, discretion, and organizational skills);
  • Compatibility with the organization's culture: good team spirit, enjoyment of teamwork and sport in general;

APERÇU DU POSTE

La Division de la gestion des résultats du département des affaires juridiques de l’AMA recherche un stagiaire dont la principale responsabilité sera de contribuer au développement d’une base de données de jurisprudence portant sur les questions liées à la mise en œuvre du Programme mondial antidopage. Cette personne contribuera à trois projets principaux : le premier portera sur l’analyse et le résumé des décisions du Tribunal arbitral du sport (TAS), ainsi que de toute autre décision jugée importante (notamment celles liées à la localisation des athlètes), puis sur la consignation de cette information dans une base de données; le deuxième consistera à surveiller les violations analytiques potentielles qui n’ont pas encore fait l’objet d’une décision; le troisième sera consacré à la surveillance des violations des obligations liées à la localisation des athlètes. En plus de contribuer aux activités de gestion des résultats, le candidat retenu devra repérer les violations potentielles, analyser les décisions reçues, relever les enjeux existants et contribuer à la rédaction des courriels, des lettres et des rapports liés à ces projets. Le candidat retenu travaillera sous la supervision du directeur associé et du chef de la Division de la gestion des résultats, en étroite collaboration avec les autres membres de cette division.

LES RESPONSABILITÉS CLÉS

  • Aider à la préparation, à la révision et au suivi de la correspondance liée à la gestion des résultats, tout en veillant à sa conformité avec les règles et procédures applicables.
  • Contribuer à la rédaction et au résumé des décisions.
  • Développer et mettre à jour des études de cas et du matériel de formation pratique destiné à la gestion des résultats.
  • Réviser, organiser et résumer des dossiers de cas simples.
  • Effectuer des recherches juridiques et préparer des résumés de recherche concis afin de soutenir l’équipe des affaires juridiques.
  • Aider à la collecte, à l’analyse et à l’interprétation des données liées à la gestion des résultats.

 LES QUALIFICATIONS ET COMPÉTENCES

  • étudiant en 2e ou 3e année de droit;
  • Intérêt pour la lutte contre le dopage;
  • Capacité à interpréter, analyser, synthétiser et rapporter;
  • Excellentes compétences en communication orale et écrite dans l’une des deux langues officielles de l’AMA (anglais/français) et une très bonne maîtrise de l’autre langue officielle; la connaissance de l’espagnol et de l’allemand serait un atout;
  • Une forte éthique de travail (dévouement, rigueur, persévérance, discrétion et compétences organisationnelles);
