Responsibilities include auditing existing documentation, writing improvements, and creating sample code for onboarding users effectively.
Summary Generated by Built In

We are seeking an accomplished and motivated intern to join Horizon Quantum in building groundbreaking tools that will shape the future of quantum computing. As a Quantum Product Manager intern, you will collaborate with our Product, Science and Engineering teams to develop and deploy software tools that advance this rapidly developing field. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the usability of a full-stack compiler for quantum processors and contribute to the development of Horizon’s products along the way.

Quantum computing requires a uniquely collaborative approach, so you’ll work closely with team members and have a dedicated supervisor to guide your project, which is closely aligned with our core products. This role offers a unique opportunity to explore a career in quantum computing while gaining hands-on experience with our team. This paid internship will run for a duration of 3 months.

Your Mission

To improve user-facing documentation and usability of our product, Triple Alpha, for a scientific and technical audience. Triple Alpha is Horizon Quantum’s Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and compiler toolchain for programming quantum computers. You will work as a member of the Product Management team and gain insights into the function.

Responsibilities

  • Learn quickly and get up to speed to contribute to Horizon Quantum’s product development and user facing documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with your supervisor to give updates and integrate feedback into your work.
  • Do an audit of the existing user facing documentation, find improvements and gaps in usability, technical and scientific.
  • Write the documentation to address the gaps and make improvements.
  • Write sample code and sample projects for the technical and scientific user to be onboarded quickly to understand the value of Triple Alpha.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in a graduate/post-graduate program in Physics, Computer Science, or other related technical field.
  • Have completed coursework in quantum information or other areas of research related to quantum computing.
  • Research experience in an area of study related to quantum computing is desirable.
  • Technical writing or documentation experience is desirable.
  • Programming experience with a scientific programming language or tool (for e.g. Python, C++, Matlab).
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Ability to work well autonomously.
  • Passion for learning and a drive to succeed.

About Horizon Quantum

At Horizon Quantum, we believe quantum computing has the potential to spark a second revolution in computing. Our mission is clear — to enable a world powered by quantum computation. We are developing tools to simplify and expedite the process of developing software for quantum computers. We are an international team headquartered in Singapore, with an office in Ireland and key markets spread out worldwide.

With Triple Alpha, we are developing a toolchain for taking a program written in a conventional language such as C or Python and transforming it into an accelerated quantum application. This requires automated algorithm synthesis to produce a high-level description of a quantum program for the task, paired with an optimising compiler to turn this into a processor-specific executable representation.

What We Do

We are pioneering an approach to quantum computing that allows users to write programs in classical languages that can be compiled and run on conventional or quantum computers, without any knowledge in quantum computing. Whether you are a software developer interested in quantum computing, or an expert who is highly proficient in quantum information theory, you'll be able to gain a quantum speedup without the need to understand the underlying computational model. Our compiler automatically constructs quantum algorithms from classical code, so you can develop quantum algorithms for new domains without deep quantum expertise.
