About the Role
Tarsus is at the forefront of pharmaceutical innovation, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance patient outcomes. Our IT department plays a critical role in enabling this mission through data-driven solutions and advanced analytics.
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Summer IT Intern to work on an exciting project at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and data analytics. The intern will contribute to one or more use cases designed to showcase how our newly created DataHub platform can enable AI-driven initiatives as part of Tarsus Innovation goals. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with real-world applications in a global pharmaceutical setting while building valuable technical and analytical skills.
Let's talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:
- Explore and demonstrate how diverse data sources can be imported into a centralized platform.
- Collaborate with team members from various functions to identify relevant data sets and ensure seamless integration and/or import of appropriate data into the centralized platform .
- Work with Large Language Models (LLMs) to process and analyze ingested data.
- Build workflows to integrate AI/ML capabilities within the platform.
- Transform processed data into actionable insights to address a business challenge.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders through visualizations and reports.
Factors for Success:
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program majoring in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
- Extensive Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and tools is required.
- Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, or other programming languages.
- Basic understanding of machine learning and data processing tools.
- Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus, but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- This position reports directly to our Assoc Dir, IT Project & Program Management.
The expected hourly pay for this position is $26/hour for an undergraduate student and $44/hour for a graduate student.
