We are looking for a highly motivated intern to join the Business Strategy & Operations team in the Translational & Quantitative Sciences (TQS) department.
TQS is a global R&D function operating in a complex environment with many teams, stakeholders, and ongoing initiatives. Clear and effective functional and operational communication is essential to ensure alignment on priorities, decisions, progress, and collaboration and to foster engagement and a strong sense of community in the team.
The objective of this internship is to explore how functional and operational communication is experienced in TQS and focuses on communication flows, operational alignment, and employee engagement at the department level. You will identify (and implement) opportunities to improve transparency, alignment, engagement, and efficiency within the department.

Responsibilities
Analyze themes and trends related to communication, collaboration, and engagement within TQS (including from employee engagement data)
Map current TQS communication channels, forums, and information flows
Identify key TQS stakeholders and assess their communication needs
Assess how employees within TQS access, interpret, and use information
Identify pain points and explore opportunities to improve functional and operational communication approaches and platforms in TQS
Translate findings into practical recommendations drive the implementation of communication improvements within TQS
Contribute to communication materials, content updates, and initiatives aimed at improving functional and operational communication in TQS
Requirements
Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program at a Dutch university in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field with a major in Communication OR in (Science) Communication, Organizational Sciences, Business Administration with demonstrated background and affinity with Life Sciences
This internship must be a formal, mandatory component of your degree program required for graduation; we cannot consider candidates who have already graduated or who are seeking an extracurricular internship.
Available for a minimum of 6 months.
Strong analytical and research skills, experience in surveys, interviews, data analysis is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and engaging content. Experience with content creation or employee engagement initiatives is a plus
Comfortable working with digital communication platforms such as SharePoint, Teams, or similar tools
Able to work independently in a dynamic, cross-functional environment with multiple stakeholders
