Location: Galveston 
Paid Internship

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned. 

1. Trouble-shoots hardware, software and network issues. 

1. Manages the telephone and voice mail system. 

1. Identifies and procures the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements. 

1. Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on users' premises. 

1. Loads standardized software packages such as operating systems, networking components, and 

       office applications. 

1. Provides telephone, in-person, and online support to end-users. 

1. Coordinates activities with network services and information systems groups. 

1. Provides updates, status, and completion information to managers and/or users via, voicemail, e- mail, or in-person communication. 

1. Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction. 

1. Connects users to networks and provides initial training in facilities and applications. 

1. Supports e-mail and anti-virus systems. 

1. Assists in research and procurement of computer services, contractors, accessories and supplies. 

1. Track and maintain network asset inventory.  

1. Perform other duties and services to ensure successful projects are delivered and clients are satisfied. 

1. Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality. 

Required Education & Experience: 

1. High school education or equivalent 

1. Degree in Networking or Management Information Systems preferred. 

1. Two years of hardware, networking, and telecommunication experience, preferred. 

1. Computer literate, including advanced skills supporting Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.). Experience with Accounting software a plus. 

1.    Familiar with Microsoft 365, Entra, and Intune. 

2. Basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory including group policy. 

3. Basic understanding of LAN topologies and concepts over Ethernet and Fiber. 

1. Basic understanding of WAN topologies and concepts.

1. Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer.
