Intern I

PPG is looking for someone who has a passion for cloud environments. As a Cloud Services Intern you will analyze, design, implement, tune, and manage IT infrastructure in our cloud environments. You will exist within the Cloud Architecture/Services team within PPG's Cloud Center of Excellence. It aligns with PPG's Cloud Only strategy by offering you hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure and services. You will gain practical knowledge of cloud platforms, automation tools, and operational best practices in an enterprise environment. You will support PPG's Corporate Functions and Strategic Business Units (SBU's) worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, OCI, or Alibaba cloud).

• Improve PPG's public cloud Landing Zones by implementing architecture, governance, and security standards.

• Collaborate with cloud architects, security architects, and frontline IT teams to ensure cloud security and regulatory compliance.

• Help automate routine operational tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).

• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and escalate incidents.

• Document processes, configurations, and operational procedures.

• Improve the cost of cloud spend through rightsizing, waste-finding, and reserved instances.

• Demonstrate passion for learning, keeping up to date on technical advancements, and industry trends.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or has recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology and Management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of cloud computing concepts, cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, OCI, or Alibaba cloud).
• Familiarity with cloud automation tools (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, Ansible) or scripting languages (Powershell, Python, Bash) are considered a plus.
