About the role

You will be part of our cross-functional and very passionate Sustainability Team that is tackling one of the most important issues of our time - the global climate emergency. You will support the team by translating Forto's sustainability goals into concrete actions and creating transparency on Forto’s sustainability performance. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to make an incredible impact on Forto, our customers and the entire logistics industry, while also being able to focus on your personal development. You will be responsible for your own long-term projects as well as working on various ad hoc topics that change regularly.

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead your own projects from day one, bringing together diverse stakeholders and working in cross-functional teams on a project-by-project basis
• Collect and manage data related to Forto’s climate footprint and sustainability performance in line with global standards and certifications
• Monitor national and international sustainability policies and analyze how they will affect Forto 
• Develop internal sustainability policies together with different stakeholders across the organization 
• Organize sustainability engagement initiatives and get-togethers for Forto employees and the communities we collaborate with 
• Implement targeted initiatives together with sustainability ambassadors across Forto to drive change in all departments of the organization and contribute to the achievement of Forto’s sustainability targets

Required Skills and Experience:

• You are a student in your final year of study or have recently completed your studies in business administration, sustainability, communications or a related field, are available for 6 months and want to start your career in the field of sustainability
• You are passionate about sustainability and sustainable transformation
• You have a structured, independent approach and work very detail-oriented 
• You have a problem solving mindset, are highly motivated and love challenging the norms
• You have great communication skills, verbally and written, and bring experience using tools like Power Point/ Google Slides and Word/ Google Docs to strengthen your messaging
• You view feedback as an opportunity for growth
• You have strong analytical skills and have already worked with Excel or Google Sheets
• You are fluent in English, German is a plus 

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

• You have project management experience
• You have previous knowledge and ideally already practical experience in the field of sustainability
