Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial and Operational Data Analyst Intern to join our Engineered Materials Group Strategic Programs team for Summer 2026. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience assisting with a global, strategic, change management project related to commercial and operation analysis and reporting.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with identifying trends, patterns, and insights to support data-driven decisions across the Engineered Materials Group
  • Assist with the summary and communication of analysis results within the group
  • Help develop, implement, and maintain databases, data collection systems, and other strategic applications which optimize data efficiency and the quality of commercial reporting
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, visualizations, and dashboards to present data insights to stakeholders in a clear and actionable way (e.g. Power BI dashboards reports, etc.)
  • Monitor data accuracy and integrity, ensuring quality and consistency of data
  • Assist project teams comprising of different departments (such as Product Management, Sales, IT, Engineering, Operations) to make document data and processes changes required to optimize processes and outputs
  • Write SQL queries to access and manipulate data in relational databases.
  • Develop scripts (Python, R, etc.) to automate data processing tasks.
  • Extract data from various sources (databases, APIs, flat files) using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Cleanse and transform raw data to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Assist with the development of data pipelines to automate data ingestion and processing.

Education & Experience

  • Education Level Required: Current College Student, all tracts, rising Junior or above considered Bachelor's / Master’s / PhD
  • Majors: Technical degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics considered
  • Demonstrated Experience and Skills

  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Excel, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, VB/VBA, MATLAB)
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing
  • Knowledge of machine learning and predictive modeling is a plus
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes
  • Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Data Analysis, Excel, MS Power BI

Working Conditions

  • This role will be based on-site in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania 
  • Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary
  • Must be comfortable with verbally communicating with people across multiple locations

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.
  • Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
  • Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Work environment will range from office to plant floor 
  • Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
