About the Role
The Business Development (BD) intern will be responsible for supporting the Business Development team with a wide range of projects including the assessment of industry trends and competitive landscape, research and data analysis of BD opportunities and therapeutic areas from a market opportunity, unmet need, clinical, regulatory, commercial, and intellectual property perspectives, and assistance in the organization of information around current and potential future alliances.
Let’s talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:
The intern will participate in the evaluation and assessment of key opportunities for the United States and key international markets
- Gather competitive analysis, market intelligence, and assigned secondary market research as directed and become knowledgeable on key BD platforms
- Perform strategic and financial analyses, decision support, and analysis of new business initiatives
- Perform detailed scientific, commercial, and clinical analysis of new asset opportunities culminating in a recommendation presented to senior leadership members
- Complete a comprehensive disease landscape that includes an analysis on key scientific, clinical, and commercial assumptions as well as a recommendation on the attractiveness of the space for Tarsus
- Organize content, contacts, key takeaways, and action items between the Tarsus BD team and external counterparties following touchpoints
- Develop optimization strategies for current BD processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Factors for Success:
- Current enrolment in a graduate program and pursuing an MBA or similar degree
- Undergraduate degree in biology, biochemical engineering, chemistry, or a similar major
- GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred
- Strong written and communication skills
- Ability and experience in critically evaluating scientific literature
- Experience working in a research lab is a plus but not required
- Highly motivated and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Driven by curiosity and appreciates seeking answers to difficult questions
- Perseverance, initiative, and a desire for self-improvement are highly valued
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

The expected hourly pay for this position is $45/hr for a graduate student.
