Summary

The Supply Chain Intern will support Dunmore’s supply chain and operations teams through hands-on experience across planning, procurement, supplier management, warehouse operations, logistics, and continuous improvement. This role provides exposure to the end-to-end flow of materials and information—from suppliers through manufacturing and customer delivery—while contributing to projects that improve supply chain performance.

 

The intern will work with Supply Chain, Operations, and cross-functional partners on defined projects related to SIOP process improvement, warehouse and material flow, and strategic supplier management. Through project work and participation in daily supply chain activities, the intern will develop an understanding of how planning, procurement, inventory, logistics, and supplier performance contribute to operational results and customer delivery.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support SIOP process improvement by assisting with data gathering, analysis, reporting, process documentation, and identification of opportunities to improve planning visibility and cross-functional alignment.
  • Support warehouse and material-flow improvement projects by observing current workflows, gathering operational data, documenting processes, and identifying opportunities to improve material movement, organization, efficiency, and production readiness.
  • Support strategic supplier management initiatives by organizing and analyzing supplier information and performance data and assisting with projects designed to improve supplier reliability, delivery performance, and supply-chain visibility.
  • Assist with tracking and analyzing supply chain and operational performance indicators, including on-time-in-full delivery (OTIF), supplier on-time delivery (OTD), and other measures related to operational performance.
  • Participate in supply chain activities across planning, procurement, inventory, warehouse, and shipping functions to develop an understanding of the end-to-end supply chain.
  • Assist with documenting current-state workflows and developing process maps, reports, or other materials that support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Production, and other departments as needed to gather information, understand constraints, and support assigned projects.
  • Assist the Supply Chain team with day-to-day activities and data organization while balancing defined internship projects and deliverables.
  • Analyze project findings and communicate progress, observations, and improvement opportunities to the Supply Chain team and appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to stronger material availability, operational efficiency, supplier performance, and customer delivery.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Interest in supply chain, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data to support process improvement and operational decision-making.

 

Education and Experience

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.

 

Physical Demands - OFFICE / TRAVEL

  • Standing/Sitting 30/70%
  • Walking/Bending/Stooping 30%
  • Lifting Requirements: 15 pounds
  • Travel by air, rail, auto (5% of time)
  • Work in manufacturing area, QA lab and office areas
  • Exposures - Odors, Fumes, Noise, Chemicals, Temperature, Vision strain, Moving parts.
