Role: Senior Art Director 

Location: Remote working until further notice 


A little bit about the role: 

We're looking for a hands-on Art Director to shape and execute high-impact advertising content across multiple channels and formats by leveraging both traditional design skills and AI-powered tools. You will be actively involved in the ideation, visual development, and execution of marketing assets for digital and social, across both static and video formats.  

You’ll be trained on our proprietary AI platform, Pencil, and use this alongside other GenAI tools to produce creative solutions that stand out in the market. The ideal candidate combines a passion for visual storytelling, a strategic understanding of brands, strong collaboration, and familiarity with the latest in AI-driven creative workflows. Experience in creating and working within cohesive design systems is vital for the successful candidate. You’ll take projects from initial concept through to delivery, working hands-on while also guiding and briefing other creators and motion designers for integrated rollouts.  

What you'll be doing: 

  • Work collaboratively with GenAI Creators, Copywriters, Motion Designers, and Project Managers to craft campaigns across multiple formats and platforms. 
  • Provide direction as well as deliver across all phases of projects, from strategic concept development through final, hands-on execution - championing both traditional and AI-assisted approaches. 
  • Develop and refine concepts, storyboards, and moodboards - directly leveraging GenAI tools to accelerate, enhance, or transform ideation and production processes. 
  • Take a hands-on role in asset creation and design, setting the creative standard by example and delivering on projects. 
  • Develop assets for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Google Display using the Pencil platform in response to client briefs. 
  • Take client briefs through all steps including insight, concept, copy, image & video generation and final creative assembly using different GenAI models and techniques. 
  • Inspire and guide other designers and motion talent, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and help expand GenAI proficiency and tool adoption across the team. 
  • Oversee the quality and consistency of creative output of your projects - reviewing and shaping work produced by yourself and others to ensure alignment with brand guidelines, client objectives, and evolving best practices in AI-powered content. 
  • Continuously research, evaluate, and implement new GenAI tools, staying at the forefront of what’s possible and sharing insights with the broader team. 
  • Guide presentations and pitch new creative approaches to clients, articulating the strategic and visual value of GenAI-powered solutions. 
  • Ensure the timely, efficient, and effective delivery of finished assets across multiple projects.

You are expected to maintain active AI proficiency by: 

  • Completing ongoing, structured internal AI training, including Pencil. 
  • Continuously upskilling with our approved AI toolsincluding Pencil. 
  • Staying up to date with evolving AI trends through internal resources. 
  • Collaborating and contributing to AI knowledge-sharing sessions, embracing our culture of learning. 

What you'll need: 

  • Art Direction or senior creative experience in an advertising agency, in-house creative team, or design studio, with exposure to motion or integrated digital campaigns. 
  • Proven Art Direction portfolio that demonstrates hands-on creation of both traditional and AI-assisted projects (AI can be personal or client-related work). 
  • Experience working with and directing multidisciplinary creative teams, including designers, motion artists, and editors—guiding and overseeing project execution. 
  • Working knowledge of GenAI tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Veo3 etc. (Training on our specific platform, Pencil, will be provided.) 
  • Hands-on experience with GenAI-driven ideation, prompt creation, and asset generation, with a strategic understanding of AI’s creative applications. 
  • A critical eye for detail - able to analyse GenAI-generated outputs, quickly spot subtle errors or inconsistencies, and correct them via prompt refinement or additional editing tools to achieve polished results. 
  • Strong retouching skills. 
  • Strong judgment in evaluating briefs and strategically identifying where and how GenAI can be integrated into the creative workflow for maximum efficiency and impact. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud. 
  • Advanced visual storytelling and communication skills, and the ability to confidently present and rationalize concepts to clients and internal stakeholders. 
  • Collaborative, proactive mentorship style and genuine enthusiasm for mentoring and upskilling others in new technologies. 
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills. 
  • Optimistic, adaptable mindset regarding the opportunities and ethical considerations of GenAI in the creative industries.
