Role Description:
As an Insurance Operations Counsel with World, you will have an opportunity to advise fellow legal team colleagues, unit leaders, and transactional staff across our business on a wide range of legal matters. You will help develop and scale the legal infrastructure of our client facing practices and steer contractual relationships with commercial vendors. You will partner with cross-functional teams to incorporate sound business practices and risk mitigation. You will also assist the company in navigating regulatory and compliance frameworks as they expand into new areas of oversight and govern developing insurance product lines. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills and the ability to manage numerous matters and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of client-facing legal templates for items including but not limited to service agreements, nondisclosure arrangements, and response to client complaints.
  • Support the development of contractual framework between World and the insurance markets that offer coverage to our clients.
  • Drive awareness on insurance and regulatory compliance issues with the development of training and guidelines that help business stakeholders understand and address the evolving oversight of our industry.
  • Work with outside counsel, combining their advice with your own analysis and feedback from internal stakeholders to provide practical guidance.
  • Design, build and implement vendor contracting strategies.
  • Create, update, and maintain templates and contracting processes relevant to World’s expanding insurance brokerage and consulting operations.


Qualifications:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Bar membership in good standing.
  • Functional knowledge of the insurance brokerage industry.
  • A minimum of 2-8 years of legal experience, preferably in in a law firm or legal department supporting the insurance industry.
  • Proficiency in common office software applications.
