The Insurance/Investment Associate is accountable to manage fund updates to ensure our client services financial inquiries from managing general agencies (MGA’s), licensed insurance brokers and policyholders can be handled within our expected service levels. Quality and professionalism are key in this role. This role will provide accurate and timely updates to support service to MGAs, brokers and policyholders. Duties include but are not limited to, the following activities:

  • Seeks, recognizes and acts upon opportunities to expand business relationships.
  • Answers inquiries and provides accurate information about insurance products.
  • Responds to information requests and follows established protocols.
  • Resolves issues escalating as required.
  • Processes client service requests and administrative requests according to established procedures and policies, and submits as required for approval.
  • Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Provides advice and guidance to assigned business/group on implementation of solutions.
  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders and ensures alignment.
  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Analyzes customer service data and recommends changes to improve the service offered by the unit.
  • Supports change management of varying scope and type; tasks typically focused on execution and sustainment activities.
  • Provides input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
  • Identifies process and service gaps and recommends improvements.
  • Examines all official documents in advance of completing required forms to ensure appropriate authorization is available and follows established guidelines and procedures.
  • Performs defined policy administration tasks and submits for approval as required.
  • Supports the development of tools and delivery of training focused on delivering business results.
  • Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.
  • Follows established procedures in all communications with clients – by phone, e-mail or written – to ensure that compliance requirements are met for all scenarios.
  • Creates and maintains computer records on all systems to ensure accuracy of client information.
  • Recommends workflow improvements to deliver a more efficient operation.
  • Focus may be on a business/group.
  • Thinks creatively and proposes new solutions.
  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Works mostly independently.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically between 3 - 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skilled in Excel
  • Knowledge of fund activities/maintenance.
  • In‐depth knowledge about products, process, policies and practices.
  • Working understanding of policy contract wording & interpretation.
  • Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.
  • English/French bilingualism an asset
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.
  • Collaboration & team skills - In-depth.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth.
  • Influence skills - In-depth.

Salary:

$45,500.00 - $84,500.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
