Description
At Koslin & Kahn Oral and Facial Surgery, we are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Insurance Coordinator to join our specialty dental practice. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring a smooth experience for our patients by accurately verifying insurance benefits, calculating estimates, and helping patients understand their financial responsibilities before treatment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Verify medical and dental insurance coverage and eligibility in advance of appointments.
- Calculate patient estimates, including copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and surgery deposits.
- Obtain pre-authorizations and resolve any coverage discrepancies to reduce claim denials.
- Communicate clearly with patients about their insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.
- Submit claims, post payments, and ensure accurate documentation in the practice management system.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date patient insurance records.
- Collaborate with billing, coding, and clinical teams to support a seamless patient experience.
- Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and practice compliance guidelines at all times.
Requirements
- Oral surgery insurance experience, particularly in coordinating both dental and medical coverage required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with practice management software, EHR systems, and online eligibility portals
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
