ABOUT

Agnikul Cosmos is a company incubated at IIT Madras and we build rockets that can take satellites up to 500 kg to Lower Earth Orbit (LEO). In May 2024, we successfully completed our maiden launch from our own launchpad (India's first private launchpad). The launch has proven all the new technologies developed by Agnikul and also earned recognition from Honourable Prime Minister of India.

As an Associate Instrumentation Software Developer on the Instrumentation Software team, you will develop and support software solutions for complex engineering problems across our launch vehicle and test stand systems. Every test setup, every countdown, and every resource we invest is ultimately aimed at generating accurate, reliable, and traceable data. This data drives critical engineering decisions, validates flight vehicle components, and ensures total mission success.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and Optimize: Assist in developing new and optimizing existing software codebases used to test, command, and monitor flight vehicle components.

  • Lifecycle Ownership: Support the entire software lifecycle, including code integration, debugging, and maintaining software used across active engineering test setups.

  • DAQ & LabVIEW Systems: Assist in LabVIEW coding, testing, and upgrading the data acquisition (DAQ) systems that monitor and control our critical hardware test rigs.

  • Hardware Integration: Support the physical setup and calibration of DAQ hardware and electronics, ensuring perfect synergy between physical sensors and software interfaces.

  • Data & Documentation: Rigorously document software test results, track software bugs, and ensure clear, traceable data reporting for engineering validation.

  • Process Learning: Proactively learn and implement advanced qualification testing processes to ensure all code complies with stringent aerospace safety and precision requirements.

  • Strong, foundational knowledge of the C programming language is compulsory.

  • Familiarity with one or more of the following systems programming and scripting languages: C, C++, Python, or LabVIEW.

  • Solid understanding of the fundamentals of DAQ systems, sensor signal conditioning, and general electronics.

  • A strong documentation focus, attention to detail, and an adaptive learning mindset.

  • Hands-on experience controlling DAQ hardware or working with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters).

  • Familiarity with source code control systems (like Git).

  • Basic LabVIEW knowledge equivalent to Core 1 or Core 2 training
