Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Instrumentation Engineer to join our engineering team.
The candidate will be responsible for design of instrumentation and control systems.
This role is ideal for Instrumentation Engineer with Oil and Gas EPCM experience.
Key Responsibilities
Design Documentation:
Preparation of key deliverables such as P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), Instrument Indexes, and I/O Lists.
Developing Datasheets for field instruments like pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, and control valves.
Drafting & Layouts:
Review Instrument location plans, cable tray layouts, and hook-up drawings.
Inter-disciplinary Coordination: Collaborating with Process, Piping, and Electrical teams to ensure instrumentation designs integrate seamlessly with overall project plans.
Technical Reviews:
Participating in reviews like HAZOP (Hazard and Operability),30/60/90 % model reviews to ensure designs meet international standards like API, ANSI, and ISA.
Software Proficiency:
Tools like SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI/INTOOLS).
Key Skills and Abilities
- Excellent computer skills.
- Experience in working with multiple discipline or EPCM projects.
- Experience in the design and configuration of various control systems including DCS, PLC, HMI and SCADA/RTU.
- Must have proven configuration experience with the following systems: ABB, Honeywell, Emerson, Bristol Babcock, Allen Bradley, Wonderware and ROC.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering in instrumentation engineering.

Skills Required
- Instrumentation Engineering degree or related CET (Certified Engineering Technologist)
- P.Eng. (EIT) credential
- Minimum 10 years work experience in oil and gas with EPCM background
- Experience with oil & gas facility projects (heavy oil, conventional oil, SAGD, pipelines, compressor stations, field gas processing)
- Proven design/configuration experience with DCS, PLC, HMI, SCADA/RTU, batch software and PC networking technology
- Configuration experience with ABB, Honeywell, Emerson, Bristol Babcock, Allen Bradley, Wonderware and ROC
- Experience interfacing with multidisciplinary teams, vendors; prepare procurement documentation and technical specifications
- Provide engineering support during construction including field engineering, inspection and special studies
- Ability to develop and implement engineering standards, prepare detailed documentation, provide team leadership and mentor junior staff
