Job Overview
Applied Systems, Inc., the worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for an Instructional Designer to join our Activation Services Learning Team. This team is responsible for the delivery of product training, driving user adoption and utilization of our products by creating delightful, effective and efficient customer learning moments for all our valued customers. As an Instructional Designer, you will manage the creation and maintenance of customer-facing eLearning courseware, including virtual product release highlights.
The Instructional Designer advances beyond their initial, foundational knowledge of Applied Systems' products to meet our customer's needs, company directives, industry trends, and adult learning theory. This position focuses on continuous research and assessment of materials produced while working within established operational procedures and processes while always seeking opportunities for improvement. The ideal candidate demonstrates high creativity, efficient project management skills, and the ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally with leaders and peers around the organization.
What You'll Do

• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external teams, subject matter experts, product managers, and department training resources to develop and release courseware
• Conduct research as needed to grow subject matter expertise in Applied Systems products and the insurance industry overall
• Provide recommendations on the types of skills or knowledge the learner needs to know
• Design and develop engaging and interactive digital learning content such as eLearning courses, infographics, animations, motion graphics, video, simulations, tests and learning games while independently providing status and timeline updates
• Follow established course development procedures and standards at scale for each project to ensure high-quality expectations are met. Additionally analyze, update and refine existing content
• Participate in planning discussions to map and communicate the strategic direction of user training alongside mentoring other team members and working collaboratively
• Liaise with the LMS Administrator to gain insight into the publication of learning catalogs, tracks and plan activities

What You'll Need to Succeed
We're looking for someone who:

• Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office

Your experience should include some or all of the following:

• 3+ years working as an instructional designer or equivalent experience
• Advanced knowledge of eLearning tools such as Captivate, Articulate and Camtasia
  • Other systems utilized at Applied include Zoom, GoToMeeting, Microsoft Teams, MS Word & MS PowerPoint
• Proven track record of analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating eLearning training content for adult audiences & software applications
• Fantastic, public speaking, facilitation, and presentation skills
• Excellent listening and written communication skills alongside expert-level editing and proofreading abilities
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of Visual Design, Education, or related disciplines

• Fully Bilingual in English and French
• Experienced working in a technology and/or software-focused business
• Experienced with Applied Systems products and/or the insurance industry
